This Laser Printers give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Exceeded my expectations. Works fine with Macintosh (10.7.x)
First, there was a reviewer that was frustrated with Macintosh support for this printer. I do not doubt one bit the issues that they had. I have had similar issues in the past with dell printers. I think Dell has fixed their issues now.

After receiving the printer, and yes no Mac drivers on the CD, I went to dell's website and downloaded their 10.7 mac driver. (Interesting to note, this was the only mac driver I saw...don't know if it works below 10.7, and this says it is version 2.2 of the driver.)

I installed the driver. Guess what? It didn't work, it did not show up on the list of available drivers. Hmmm..... I repaired disk permissions and it was fine.

Okay now for a test print... Since a review on here said it had bad photo reproduction, I went to iPhoto and printed out one. I have a lot of experience with printers. I support over 400 and many different kinds in my job. As a general rule lasers/LEDs will be inferior to ink jets when it comes to...

2. A bad start, but then Dell came through
Bought this printer to use with a Mac. Product description says it's Mac compatible. Printer arrived with a driver CD for Windows but not Mac. Dell website shows a Mac driver but the link is broken.

When I used the "chat" function with customer support they asked for my email and phone number twice, then told me "because you purchased this online, you will need to fill out an ownership transfer form."

After I told the agent I was interested in drivers for both 10.6 (Snow Leopard) and 10.7 (Lion), the agent replied:"The Lion OS is not supported at this time, however there is an update through the MAC software update from Lexmark for generic drivers for the Lion OS. For the Snow Leopard OS, the website is currently being updated I will be happy to get your email and send you the link once the website is fully updated."

After a few more back and forths during which I was asked for my email address yet again, the rep told me she would email me the driver...

Need more appointment... ?
Great printer!
This printer prints great! It prints in very high quality with very little noise. It is a smooth printer as well.
