This Laser Printers give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Just what I expected.
Purchasing supplies for my inkjet printer was running up the $$$. Remembering the old days when we had the office Laserwriter, reminded me how many prints you could get on one cartridge.
We stopped by the local Office Max to see what was available. I thought I was in the market for a mono laser printer. The knowledgeable sales person showed us the 315. I asked him to print a couple of pages and was satisfied with the output. I would have purchased it on the spot, however they didn't carry the 315W... and I wanted a wireless printer.
This gave me time to come home and check it out on the net. The reviews ran the gamete from "Great" to "Don't buy". After consuming reviews till I was dizzy, I decided to place my order on Amazon. I had the printer in 3 days...all in good order.
After trying it out for a few days here is what i Have found out.

Negative reviews. I really don't get this... Anyone who has been around laser printers knows that inkjet photos are far...

2. Completely dead after 3 years....
** UPDATE **

Having owned this printer for approximately three years (2011), it has always worked until the other day it simply "died" completely. The red light flashes, no print jobs go through. I contacted Samsung via Twitter for assistance and was referred to a local repair shop. Repair shop suggested it was the "main board...and sensors" that needed repair to the tune of $85-$95. Samsung Customer Service via Twitter was helpful but far from understanding. I was asked for the SN# and if I still had the receipt, I gave them all information except the receipt I no longer had....I was told no exceptions can be made, their decision was final, and there was nothing they could do. They were clearly less-than-enthusiastic about standing behind their product or offering to meet me half-way on a repair.

HP sells a comprable Laserjet for $199 MSRP (less on Amazon), it's not worth paying 1/2 the price of a new one to get the old one repaired. I've owned several printers...

Setup ok, color ok, wireless feature ++, buy more toner... now
I bought this on 3 Dec through Amazon. Normal great delivery and packaging. Setup was ok - although minimal instructions like other reviewers have said. Used a Cat5 cable to my router, logged in, changed the IP and pw, and no issues.

Had a bit of trouble with the paper cartridge - didn't realize it stuck out (no pictures indicated that) and it's pretty cheap / thin plastic so I didn't want to use too much oomph. But eventually figured it out and I'm comfortable with putting paper in and out (needed for double sided printing).

Just finished printing 120 Christmas letters with color pics embedded - 2 pages, front and back, so about 450 pages total. And the black toner is hollering "low!" so I ordered another (supposedly 1.5k pages) from Amazon - $43. Seems a bit soon to me, but there it is.

Cyan cartridge now needs "shaking" every 10 pages or so or it doesn't fill in where it should - and the "guage" is still showing 30% available.

This Laser Printers give to us some advantages, like this :
1. You get what you pay for
You get what you pay for! You are buying the cheapest laser printer on the market. IF you want the best quality, the fastest printer, the highest paper capacity, etc, you will not find it with the cheapest price tag. With that being said, I had realistic expectations with this printer, and they were fulfilled. I print about 100 pages a day to market to my clients. Works fine. if you have high expectations, spend twice the money. It's a simple as that.

2. The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly
I bought this printer on an amazing Black Friday $99 deal thinking that it would be more economical than my inkjet for printing out the 360 pages I needed for my family's holiday newsletter. It was an unfortunate mix of good and bad...

GOOD: Small, looks nice, great price, toner relatively inexpensive, quiet, hooking it up to the Mac was a breeze. Full page photo print on premium laser paper was the best I've seen on a color laser, not as good as an inkjet running photo paper, but much better than an inkjet using plain paper.

These are all great plusses, but it wasn't all rosy.

BAD: When refeeding the paper back into the hopper to print on the back side, the printer jammed every couple of pages. The added friction of the toner on the bottom side really messed with it. The paper curled a bit and I tried to flatten as best as possible, but it kept on jamming.
Text: I thought the text was not as sharp as it could be and when I compared it to the text...

Fast, Quiet, Quality, Inexpensive (I don't want to say cheap that can be confused)
I recently purchased this printer at Staples in Los Angeles, Ca. I was dismayed that while the printer had been out for near a month (supposedly) no one had reviewed it on any website I could find (tech saavy website or purchasing website such as this). So I decided that even though reviews aren't my normal thing I'd take a shot so everyone else could have a jumping off point.
This is my 3rd printer, first laser. My first printer was a pos hp top loading seriously cheapest printer you could buy during college sort of thing. It sucked. I still have and own my second printer an HP PSC 2410xi photosmart all in one. Why did I buy HP after my first experience? I don't know I think it was a good deal or something. It was a good choice. My only complaint with that printer is one the cost of ink refills, and two the scanner quickly developed a marking on the underside of the glass from the scanner ribbon touching the glass. This is fixable/cleanable but you have to take the...

Samsung CLX-3185 Color Printer with Scanner & Copier

  • Compact, Fast and Robust Color Laser Printer to fit in any environment
  • Versatile Functionalities with Print, Copy and Scanning Features
  • Hprint Screen button allows you to print quickly whatever is on your screen

This Laser Printers give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Lots of features and decent quality for the money
This is a multifunction printer but be aware it only scans, copies, and prints. This model has no fax or wireless capability. That was a good trade-off for me. The printer is nicely built and has easy to access cartridges. The prices for the cartridges seems pretty good for the rated output so this seems like a good value for the occasional color print user. Unlike an inkjet printer the color laser doesn't mind going a long time without use. Black and white text printing is outstanding. Color printing is good and is of consumer grade. To save energy, and this printer is 850 watts when warmed up, there are built-in energy saving features like auto stand-by after 15 minutes. I leave it off and turn it on when needed. There is a about a 45 second warm up period. B/W printing is fast after the first print, color is slower but meets my needs.

Color copying and scanning work well with good quality output. It is really nice to have color copying at a such an affordable price. I...

2. seems good
***warning-- not wireless capable***
***warning-- not network capable***
***warning-- USB cable necessary but not included***

I just got this printer. It's a great size for what it does, it looks nice, and the first print job came out beautifully. One annoyance is that there was no USB cable included. In order to use the printer, you will need a USB cable of the kind that printers use (with the squarish connector on one end). It does say on the box that the USB cable is not included, but that was not apparent when I was ordering on line. Also, I was surprised to find out the printer is not wireless or even network capable (Samsung makes similar models that are wireless capable--look for N, W, or FW tacked onto the model number). Because it's not networkable, you cannot plug it into your router and use it as a network printer. In order to share it on a network, you have to either share it from the computer that you plug it into, or get a wireless router that...

Perfect Home Office Color Laser printer
Picked this up on black Friday for under $100 shipped. Wow! I never imagined the day where I could buy a color laser printer for that kind of price. It's fairly compact. It's quiet and prints very well. I'm replacing my inkjet all in one and much prefer this for daily use. I like not having to worry about inks drying out, streaking on certain papers, etc. Love that I don't have to worry about buying new cartridges all the time. Black yields 1500 pages! That's about 2.6 cents a page. Not bad! This is a great machine that I can definitely recommend. Scanner works well. Wished I could have gotten the step up model with document feeder but for 3 times the price I could not justify it. Even for twice what I paid it's a bargain.

This Laser Printers give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Orientation issues
This is a great printer. My only complaint - orientation. Often times I will print something landscape but it prints portrait thereby cutting off the image. There doesn't seem to be any hard and fast rule to this. So far, I'm batting about 20%. I tried physically changing the paper. It worked at first. But this morning I had landscape selected, loaded the paper landscape and sure enough, the image truncated. A bit humbug.

Lexmark Professional, Workgroup C540dw Wireless Color Laser Printer

Bargain Lexmark Professional, Workgroup C540dw Wireless Color Laser Printer

Lexmark C540DW Wireless Color Laser Printer. Small and smart design, big-business color.
  • Monthly Duty Cycle: Up to 35,000 pages
  • System Requirements:Microsoft Windows 2000, XP; 2000,2003 & 2008 server, Vista; Apple Mac OS X, OS 9.x
  • Paper Handling: A4, A5, Executive, Folio, JIS-B5, Legal, Letter, Universal, Oficio
  • Input Paper Capacity: 250 sheets. Output Cpacity: 100 sheets
  • Max. Paper Size: 8.5" x 14". Print Resolution: Up to 1200 x 1200 dpi

This Laser Printers give to us some advantages, like this :
1. A wannabe color laser with functionality
Bought this as a replacement for an older konica-minolta home office color laser. The pc tech who delivered the printer had to perform some interesting workarounds to force the printer to initially operate-- I should have been more concerned at that point. Color quality is okay, often it is quite dark versus truer to the monitor color. The highly advertised duplex function never has worked from first installation-- it instead prints this huge arrow on the reverse side of paper. Of late, the wireless connectivity which was a heavily-relied upon feature from my laptop has just stopped working. While a good price, think first before you buy yourself the grief and hassle unless you like playing hardware techie.

2. Great Printing... $$$ toner... Great cust servics on previous model
Works great in our SOHO application as did its predecessor, a C543DN. Toner is expensive, but buying the high-capacity cartridges from Amazon and using Lexmark's 10% recycle deal, it's manageable. Factory support on old one was excellent and available (free) after the warranty had expired. Hope they fixed the print head ribbon cable connector problem. Odd thing: on the old one there was a cover over the rear printer tray opening. On the new one the cover was not furnished or shown... but the old cover clipped into place perfectly on the new printer.

Samsung CLP-775ND/XAA Color Printer

Cheapest Samsung CLP-775ND/XAA Color Printer

35/35 (Black & Color) page per minute, Color Laser Printer, Built-in Network and Duplex
  • Fast and Robust Color Laser Printer to fit in any environment
  • Includes Built-in network and double sided printing for saving on time and money.
  • Superior Color Through Superior Technology

This Laser Printers give to us some advantages, like this :
1. Great printer for a small biz
I've had this printer for a couple of months now and have been very pleased. The paper capacity is larger than my old printer (an OKI), it's quieter, warms up faster, and the paper path seems to be better as well. On top of all that, I was worried about running out of toner quickly but the utility shows the toner is still over 80%. I highly recommend this one, on Windows 7 or 8 seems to work fine.

2. Terrific print quality, bypass tray is a huge pain
Love the quality of the printing, and the speed is amazing. No warm up time. But the bypass tray is a huge problem. I can't just put a piece of paper in the tray, it has to be inserted in just the right place to be grabbed. Most of the time I waste multiple sheets of paper as it gets grabbed from the drawer first as the placement in the tray was not recognized. I haven't figured out how to fix this yet. It helps (but still not foolproof) to have a stack of paper in the tray, not just a single sheet, but this is a silly workaround. Sometimes I just want to print a quick sheet of labels, I don't want to have to stack paper underneath it. I think the plastic parts are just a little rickety compared to my sturdy old Ricoh. Anybody got a solution for the bypass problem? Maybe it's just my machine in particular?

Not Wireless at All
This is a great printer - except one issue. We recieved it, installed it, and began our first print job over ethernet immediately. Fast, relatively quiet, excellent print and very good photo copy. Sat down this evening to install the wireless, followed the directions, hooked it into a USB to configure the wireless - it couldn't find the wireless settings. Called Samsung, very helpful guy. Took him about 30 seconds to figure out that the CLP-775ND/XAA is not a wireless printer. Apparently it needs a "W" in the suffix to be wireless (yes I know that the W alone won't do it and that it actually needs the wireless card, but that is the short answer in any event). No way to contact Amazon directly to tell them of this error, but I bet they figure it out fairly quickly after a bunch of customers waste their time setting up the printer and trying to install non-existent wireless. Bummer.

1. Love it - see short video for details

2. Good and Fast output but Noisy
I had the printer setup in my home office 8 feet or so away from where I work.
The Good.
1) Fast and excellent output
2) Easy to set up for networking. (Just follow the simply direction and it worked the first time)
3) Works well with OSx and MS

The Bad
1) Bit large and heavy (not too bad)
2) sounds like a VACUUM CLEANER when it turns on
3) the fan sound never seems to end even when it is in the sleep mode. (it does end eventually)

Conclusion.
If you don't care about ambience then this printer may be good for you, but I would not have it any area where I spend a lot of time.

Color Laserjet
I've had the 3525 for over a month, an so far it's been rock solid. I print lots of color presentations for customers, and it prints color faster than any printer I've purchased in the past. I've switched from a Lexmark, it was a very good printer, it just went through supplies (toner especially) too quickly. So far, this printer appears to be easier on supplies, and prints quality presentations.
